Writing can be an isolating process. Whether you are new to writing or have been at it a while, there is a place for you here with us. Whether you want workshops or mentoring to hone your craft, or accountability partner and friends for inspiration and motivation, we offer this and so much more — including a supportive, nurturing environment to grow as a writer.
Our mission is to support, encourage, and nurture each other while working to find our voice, and hone our craft. Our active membership welcomes and supports each other while developing our projects. We collaborate, inspire, and mentor each other and are always looking for ways to give back to our community.
Founded in 2012 by Melissa Hassard, our numbers grew from the initial five to over 45 in that first year alone. We schedule and host writers’ workshops and Second Saturdays at Tate Street Coffee House poetry reading series. For our members, we offer monthly critique and writing opportunities.
And within the community, we work with the City of Greensboro’s Commission on the Status of Women’s Domestic Violence Committee to provide free writing workshops for survivors of domestic abuse.
And there is more on the horizon.
Each new member brings new energy, new talents, new joys, and shares of herself and is nourished and encouraged by the others. We are so glad you have found us. We have been waiting for you. Join us.
