Women Writers of the Triad

community | craft | excellence

Our monthly meeting is the second Sunday of each month, from 2:00pm-4:00pm, currently held in the Community Room at Deep Roots Market.

We currently hold one critique group meeting each month, on the fourth Sunday and also at 3:00pm-5:00pm, at Deep Roots Market.

We host featured readings and open mics on the second Saturday of each month at Tate Street Coffee House.

We hold approximately four workshops each year that are open to the community, with the highest-calibre instructors — North Carolina writers who demonstrate excellence in craft as well as a love for teaching.  Keep an eye on our calendar for these opportunities.

We are always looking for ways to give back to our community.  We are currently offering free writing workshops to survivors of domestic abuse in coordination with the  City of Greensboro and the Commission on the Status of Women.

I write for those women who do not speak, for those who do not have a voice because they were so terrified, because we are taught to respect fear more than ourselves. We’ve been taught that silence would save us, but it won’t.
